  • Pathways to Work Green Paper

Some initial thoughts on the Pathways to Work Green Paper which I will update with further information as the consultation progresses. Currently, many who want to get into work simply cannot because the system does not support them. For many, taking a job risks losing the support they rely on.

  • Biggest package of new laws in decades to tackle crime

The comprehensive set of new measures will tackle antisocial behaviour (ASB), shop lifting and street crime head on, giving the police new powers to take back town centres from thugs and thieves.

From mid-April, local authorities will begin receiving their share of the government’s record £1.6 billion highway maintenance funding, which includes an additional £500 million, enough to fill 7 million potholes annually!

For the first time, Leicestershire County Council must publish its spending, the number of potholes filled, the percentage of our roads in what condition, and how it is minimising street works disruption.

Also today, the Transport Secretary has announced £4.8 billion in funding for 2025/26 for National Highways to implement essential road projects and upkeep motorways and key A-roads.

Christ can anyone ever be happy? Brilliant news for the funding. Please make sure its spent well and thought is taken on if a pot hole needs filling or the replacement of a road. Make the 1.6 mean something and not need doing again!

If the MPs had a pay cut and paid for their own expenses instead of targeting the disabled and the working people then you might have enough money to pay for the pot holes, and probably more defence

I could cope with the pot holes if the money was better spent on knife crime and the boats , if you stopped the boats and deported the illegal immigrants then you could save on the millions your spending on hotels. It is that SIMPLE.

Our local health teams are working incredibly hard to ease the waiting lists and ensure everyone gets the care they deserve. I'm pleased that they have fallen again for the fifth month in a row and are down by nearly 200,000 since we were elected.

While there is still work to do, this is real progress and a step in the right direction.

Please can you tell us what day and hour of the week this generally is?

My surgery has just been cancelled again, any one can pluck numbers out of the air.

I'm still waiting & have another 6 months. My son is still on a 3-4 year ADHD diagnosis waiting list...this should have been done 20 years ago 🤬

On World Water Day, I'm pleased to say that we delivered on our promise to ensure water companies clean up their act. We have given the regulator new powers to ensure that waterways such as the brook in Donington Le Heath are better protected from sewage dumping in the future. ... See MoreSee Less

While we ( born and bred Donnington le heath people) call it a brook it’s actually the river Sence but we like you calling it a brook like us, well done for raising it in the HoP

Prioritise, privatise and penalise Prioritise water safety and security Privatise water companies and control bills Penalise greedy bosses for their mismanagement

But the water companies have put their prices up. Just like everywhere bill, ie Council Tax, which your cronies promised wouldn't go up, energy bills going up again in April etc etc etc. When will you lot give average, hardworking people a break? A replycwould be appreciated.

There needs to a total ban on the destruction of ancient woodlands and a complete overhaul of planning to insist that new developments include trees as part of water management and adopted shared green spaces. No more developers using fancy drawings to sell new developments but for the trees to dissappear or be placed in stupid places necessitating their felling.

Today is #WorldDownSyndromeDay, marked on the 21st March to acknowledge the three copies of the 21st chromosome that causes Down Syndrome. This day serves as a platform to celebrate individuals with the condition and to promote their inclusion in all aspects of life.

It was lovely to meet Safiya and the Down's Syndrome Association team in Parliament yesterday, discussing her story and how we can all be more inclusive in our day-to-day lives.

Have you asked the Downs Syndrome association to comment on your proposed new welfare changes? Have you asked any disability charities to contribute?

Amanda Hack MP Will you be releasing a statement about your views on this welfare cut? As a constituent I would like to know where I stand in your eyes.

It’s a shame they’ll all be soon losing their PIP and means to live a reasonable life…

Yesterday, I joined Coeliac UK, supporters and colleagues to hand in their petition campaigning for better access to ‘gluten free’prescriptions. This follows the decision in December by the Leicester, Leicestershire and Rutland Integrated Care Board to end gluten free prescriptions across Leicestershire.

These ‘gluten free’ prescriptions are vital in helping those with Coeliac disease manage their illness and maintain a healthy lifestyle, preventing future health problems or complications.

Speaking with Ceira from Leicestershire and knowing personally how expensive it is to manage a restricted diet, we must put an end to the postcode lottery for people who are coeliac.

Thank you for listening to our stories, we appreciate your support.

Amanda Hack MP I live with Crohn's Disease and the only way I can continue to live in remission is to take numerous prescription drugs. I have to pay for my prescriptions, albeit on the NHS PPC plan, I still NEED to find the money for my life saving drugs. Can I have these for free please?

Moira Furnace Museum and Country Park is a great example of a Museum of iron making and social history. Whether its trips along the canal in a vintage 100+ year-old narrowboat, fishing along its banks, woodlands for exploring or a great place for a picnic, there is certainly plenty to do!

Snibston Colliery Park is another great example of the transformation of The National Forest.

From an industrial heartland to a vibrant park, encompassing the history of over 150 years of mining heritage. You can also visit the The Century Theatre here too!

It certainly is. Our guests really enjoy cycling or walking through. They find the Century Theatre really interesting and love exploring the old colliery equipment.

It is nice, but the parking charges are ridiculous.

But they lost their funding and had to close down.......
