Last night during the adjournment debate on the A50 / A500, I raised one of my constituent’s concerns about the challenges they face when regularly travelling between Castle Donington and Littleover.
I know that whenever there is an accident or general congestion along this vital route, it has a knock-on impact on the local towns and villages, with traffic spilling over onto local roads.
That’s why I’m backing calls to improve this part of the road network to support our local infrastructure, while also providing benefits to jobs and growth right across the East Midlands. ... See MoreSee Less

I had a brilliant visit to the Graphic Packaging International's Bardon site recently. A great example of innovation right here in North West Leicestershire!
The team are leading the way in paperboard packaging, helping cut plastic use while keeping products looking great on the shelf.
I was especially impressed by the focus on apprenticeships and local skills, helping people build great careers in manufacturing. ... See MoreSee Less

👂🏡 Great to be out doorknocking in Castle Donington this morning listening to residents, hearing what matters most to you, and discussing how we can keep improving our community together.
I’ll keep following up with the networks about the phone signal in the area, i’m due to meet with Vodafone shortly. We also spotted some bins which, after speaking to local dog walkers, seem to be full most of the time so we’ll pick that up too.
Castle Donington Volunteer Centre’s AGM is coming up soon too, details in the picture below.
Your feedback really does make a difference. We’ll always keep speaking to you all year round, not just at election time.

A big thank you from Education Secretary Bridget Phillipson to Worthington & Griffydam Primary School!
Both have been part of the initial roll out of 750 free breakfast clubs which has delivered over 2.5 million breakfasts across the UK to save parents up to £450 a year, and make that morning rush a little less hectic.
Having visited both clubs I can see they’re already improving children’s wellbeing, attendance and behaviour and making sure they start their day ready to learn.
We will roll out 2,000 more Best Start free breakfast clubs in primary schools across the country from April 2026, with details on how schools can apply to be released later this year.
That's on top of expanding government funded childcare to 30hrs per week and giving greater access to Free School Meals for up to 3,740 children most in need across North West Leicestershire. ... See MoreSee Less
