The Met Office has issued a Yellow Weather Warning for thunderstorms across England this weekend, with the possibility of heavy rain and high winds.
Although river levels are low, some areas may experience flash-flooding. Do not enter flood water, whether on foot or in your vehicle.
Storm damage does not necessarily need to be tackled by the emergency services. If you want to report a road or walkway that has been blocked by debris, please call 101. If you want to report a power cut, or damaged power lines, please call 105.
In an emergency, always call 999.
Have a safe weekend. ... See MoreSee Less

🚌 New Bus Route Coalville to Hinckley! 🚌
I’m pleased to say that I have today received confirmation from Leicestershire County Council that a new bus route from Coalville to Hinckley, the LC6, will begin on Tuesday 26th August. I understand that this will initially be a 1-year trial service with scope for extension, subject to demand.
I know the impact the removal of the old service had on many learners studying at college, people getting to work, those attending key appointments, and accessing local amenities. Therefore, I’m pleased to see a new route come forward.
Investment in our transport connections provides vital links between communities for local people. I will continue to battle for better buses here in North West Leicestershire and for our fair share of the £8 million uplift in funding that has been provided by the Government to Leicestershire County Council.

Campaigners have been calling for a change to the 24-week threshold for years to better support families who experience the heartbreak of baby loss. As a government, we are not only listening to those calls but scrapping the threshold altogether.
Losing a pregnancy at any stage is heartbreaking, extending bereavement leave will allow more families to take the time off work that they need to grieve.
