👂🏡 Great to be out doorknocking in Castle Donington this morning listening to residents, hearing what matters most to you, and discussing how we can keep improving our community together.
I’ll keep following up with the networks about the phone signal in the area, i’m due to meet with Vodafone shortly. We also spotted some bins which, after speaking to local dog walkers, seem to be full most of the time so we’ll pick that up too.
Castle Donington Volunteer Centre’s AGM is coming up soon too, details in the picture below.
Your feedback really does make a difference. We’ll always keep speaking to you all year round, not just at election time.

A big thank you from Education Secretary Bridget Phillipson to Worthington & Griffydam Primary School!
Both have been part of the initial roll out of 750 free breakfast clubs which has delivered over 2.5 million breakfasts across the UK to save parents up to £450 a year, and make that morning rush a little less hectic.
Having visited both clubs I can see they’re already improving children’s wellbeing, attendance and behaviour and making sure they start their day ready to learn.
We will roll out 2,000 more Best Start free breakfast clubs in primary schools across the country from April 2026, with details on how schools can apply to be released later this year.
That's on top of expanding government funded childcare to 30hrs per week and giving greater access to Free School Meals for up to 3,740 children most in need across North West Leicestershire. ... See MoreSee Less

Some nights in Parliament can end very late, like Monday when our session ended just before midnight. But it was for a more than worthy cause, recognising Baby Loss Awareness Week.
I spoke during the debate to highlight the vital work of organisations like Sands United FC Ashby, which provides life-changing support to those who have experienced baby loss.
I also shared the powerful words of Sarah, one of my constituents, about her personal experience. Her courage, and the stories shared by so many MPs, made the debate deeply moving and reminded us all why this matters so much.
We must now work closely with the national maternity and neonatal investigation and affected families to drive the changes needed in care and support. ... See MoreSee Less

Did you know it’s Flood Action Week?
Yesterday in Parliament I popped by the Floodmobile which is a mobile Property Flood Resilience (PFR) demonstration unit.
It offers a hands-on look at practical, affordable measures that can help protect homes and communities from the devastating impact of flooding.
You can find out more about PFR here: floodmary.com/help-and-resources/
Ahead of the winter months, now is the time to get prepared and protect your home and family.
Before it floods:
🏠 Check your risk: gov.uk/check-long-term-flood-risk

🤝 Find an Insurer: floodre.co.uk/find-an-insurer
