Really useful to get an update on Monday from Donna Ockenden on the progress made so far in the investigation into maternity service failings at Nottingham University Hospitals Trust.

It was sobering to hear from families that joined the meeting to share their experiences with maternity services. I will continue to work closely with the national maternity and neonatal investigation and affected families to drive the changes needed in care and support.

For those who have contacted me so far from the constituency about this, please be assured that I will continue to support you, and if you have not been in touch yet, you are welcome to at any time.

I can be contacted at [email protected] or on 01530569010.

As this is such a sensitive topic, I want to highlight the charity Sands, who support anyone affected by pregnancy or baby loss for as long as they need it: https://www.sands.org.uk/support-you/how-we-offer-support
Mind are also available for general support to those who need it: https://www.mind.org.uk/need-urgent-help/using-this-tool/

Yesterday I wrote to

Yesterday I wrote to the Minister for Energy and the Competition and Markets Authority to raise my concerns about the volatility in forecourt prices, both across our area and compared with nearby communities. The differences are staggering, and I’m very worried about potential petrol pump profiteering.

I know these sudden increases are putting real pressure on people’s bills. Thanks to recent changes in legislation, forecourts must now report any price changes within 30 minutes, meaning you can shop around with more confidence for the best deal.

I can confirm that the Competition and Markets Authority have already passed this information to their intelligence team to look into further.

You can check nearby fuel prices here:
