A Big step forward for working families 👶💙

From April, millions of workers will get day-one rights to parental leave, meaning no parent has to choose between their job and being there for their child.

Over 18 million workers will benefit, including 32,000 more dads who will be able to take paternity leave straight away, as a mother would with maternity leave.
Plus new rights for bereaved partners to take up to 52 weeks’ leave. This fixes the previously unfair system where bereaved partners had to rely on the compassion of an employer to be granted time off to grieve.

That’s the difference our Employment Rights Act will make. These changes mean fairer workplaces and better support for families when it matters most
