Flooding continues to have a serious impact on communities across Leicestershire, particularly in our rural villages, where many residents feel overlooked after years of underfunding and limited support.

During a debate on rural flooding last week, I highlighted the growing challenge posed by the sheer volume of water that we have been seeing and the impact it is having on local communities.
Â
I also welcomed the recent government funding for the Diseworth Flood Alleviation Scheme, while pressing the Minister on what more can be done to ensure rural communities are not left behind when it comes to flood protection and recovery.
