How does policy change translate into meaningful financial education for young people?

It was great to bring together policymakers, charities, financial services, and education specialists to explore this question together as Co-Chair of the Financial Education APPG.
Â
I was pleased to hear from the Department for Education that it is a priority to ensure teachers on the ground are supported and consulted at every step of the way.
Â
It is by working together as a sector that we have achieved such strides forward in financial education being strengthened in the national curriculum.
Â
The work starts now to ensure that not only is this a success, but that financial education can benefit all young people, regardless of their starting point.
Â
There was a lot of focus in the room regarding young people disconnected from mainstream education, young people in early careers, the gender divide, and underserved communities. This will absolutely be something the APPG looks at moving forward.
