Coalville banking hub petition
Closure of Lloyds Bank, Coalville
I have been informed that the Lloyds Bank branch in Coalville will close on 23rd June 2026.
Lloyds will be contacting local customers shortly, if they have not already, to make them aware of the closure and alternative ways of banking with Lloyds.
Lloyds have agreed to provide a Community Banker to support their local customers after the branch closes and whilst this support is welcome, many residents and local businesses will understandably be concerned about the loss of a permanent high-street banking presence in Coalville.
Access to in-person banking services remains vital for those who are less able to travel, people who are not confident using digital banking, and for small businesses that rely on cash services. The closure will require customers to travel further for face-to-face support, and I know this will be inconvenient and worrying for some.
That is why I have already engaged with LINK to request a Banking Hub review for Coalville to ensure face-to-face services remain local to the area. I’ll also be writing to Lloyds directly too.
