Coffee Afternoon Fleecehold
I know how frustrating unadopted estates can be for local people. I have already worked on behalf of residents across North West Leicestershire, including in Kegworth, Ibstock and Hugglescote, raising concerns about new developments where people are left with unfinished roads, inadequate drainage, and high, opaque management fees.
Back in March, I co-sponsored a 10-minute rule bill on unadopted estates (Housing Estates Bill). I’m really pleased that the Minister has now announced that two-thirds of the bill’s proposals will be taken forward through consultations on how to reduce the use of private estate management arrangements.
With the two consultations now live, I want to hear your views at an upcoming coffee afternoon on how we can:
✅Protect people from unfair charges.
✅Stop estates being left unadopted.
This is a key step towards ending fleecehold and giving residents a better deal. Â
