Defib Dash FAQs

You can register to take part here: https://www.amandahack.com/campaigns/defib-dash-register/

What is the Defib Dash?

This is a community audit taking place between 17th – 23rd November that you can get involved in! All you need to do is find your nearest publicly accessible Defibrillator and “Dash” to it (you could walk, run or cycle, just don’t use your car!), timing your journey. You can find your nearest Defib here: https://www.defibfinder.uk/

What is the aim of the Dash?

To raise awareness of the defib deserts across North West Leicestershire. I want to encourage everyone to think about the need for more defibs in the community, where they are needed most, and also raise awareness within the community about where your nearest defib is, and how to use The Circuit to find it. Every minute without CPR or Defibrillation reduces the chance of survival by 10% so it’s vital to raise awareness of where your nearest lifesaving defib is.

How can I sign up?

You can register for a free campaign pack here: https://www.amandahack.com/campaigns/defib-dash-register/ This will contain all the information you need, a poster to share that your taking part, stickers and a link to share with family and friends to encourage them to sign up too. You’ll also get a free invite to our in-person Launch event on Saturday 15th November!

What do I do when I find the Defib?

Great you’ve managed to “Dash” to your nearest Defib, now make a note of how long it took you and if the Defib is where you expect it to be. Grab a photo (You can be in it too if you wish!) and then submit your findings to our audit here: https://www.amandahack.com/campaigns/defib-dash-submission/

Is that all I need to do?

Yes! We’ll handle the rest for now. Well… don’t forget to encourage family and friends to take part too!

Can I Dash to more than one Defib?

Absolutely! Whilst we encourage everyone to start by “Dashing” to the one closest to their home, you can “Dash” to as many defibs as you like from as many locations as you like! Just follow the same process.

I’m part of an organisation; how do we sign up?

You can fill out your organisations details here: https://www.amandahack.com/campaigns/defib-dash-register/ and just let us know which organisation you represent. It’s worth encouraging all members to sign up individually too so we can keep them up to date with the campaign progress.
