Griffydam Junction Update
Good news! The County Council have advised me that, following consultation with Leicestershire Police, they will be changing the junction of Top Road and Rempstone Road to a Stop Junction. Whilst they have not yet provided a timescale for these changes, I’ll keep pushing for this to be completed as soon as possible.
Thank you to everyone who provided feedback on their experiences of this junction through my survey earlier in the year. Having received nearly 100 responses, I used this local knowledge as part of my correspondence with the County Council. The change has come about because of this community effort.
The County Council will also be conducting further speed surveys soon and will provide me an update on this once completed.
I am also still chasing an update on the Crossing Assessment that took place outside Griffydam Primary School earlier this month and will provide an update to the community once I have one. ... See MoreSee Less

The fantastic Castle Donington Wakes is on right through to Saturday evening, a brilliant few days of fun and rides in the heart of the town!
Lovely to pop by last night and take in the atmosphere whilst catching up with local councillors and reporting a couple of blocked drains to Leicestershire County Council that I noticed too!

Great to visit Anthony Pullen Personal Training in Measham following their fantastic 24hr-fundraising marathon which raised over £5000 last year to install a defibrillator outside the gym.
Quick access to a Defib is vital during a life threatening situation. Every minute without CPR or Defibrillation reduces the chance of survival by 10%.
I’m determined to ensure we have better access across North West Leicestershire to these life saving defibs and that people are aware how easy they are to use.
It was also fantastic to hear their inspiring story, from the very beginning to where they are now, and to see how passionate both Anthony and Natalie are about promoting health and wellbeing.
It’s brilliant to see local businesses taking steps to keep their members and the wider community safe. A huge well done to everyone involved for their commitment to health, fitness and community spirit! 💪❤️ ... See MoreSee Less

Supporting Schools with Better Breakfast Clubs 🥣
We’re helping schools go further with free breakfast clubs, making them more affordable, more varied, and easier to run.
Thanks to new partnerships with Morrisons, Sainsbury’s, Weetabix, and Magic Breakfast, schools can now benefit from:
✅ Free delivery passes
✅ Exclusive savings
✅ £200 support vouchers
✅ Simplified ordering
These offers help schools provide more nutritious, varied breakfasts while freeing up funds for enrichment opportunities such as games, sports, and creative activities.
Already, 750 schools are taking part, including in Griffydam and Worthington, with another 2,000 coming on board across the UK in April 2026.
Further details on how schools can get involved will be shared later this year. ... See MoreSee Less

‼️Taking Action on Waterway Pollution🚨
Last week, I spoke to BBC East Midlands Today alongside local residents and councillors about the ongoing pollution of the River Sence at Donington le Heath. (Link in the comments to the full video)
Years of underinvestment have left us in this position. That’s why we’ve been cracking down on water companies to make sure they play their part in upgrading our water networks for the future.
This Government has secured the largest ever investment in our water system, £104 billion, to improve and modernise our infrastructure.
But we’re going even further by giving the Environment Agency stronger powers to hold water companies to account. That includes faster fines of up to £500,000 and new automatic penalties, like a speeding ticket, for specific and obvious breaches, cutting out the need for lengthy investigations.
I was proud to work on the Water (Special Measures) Bill at it's committee stage, which helped make these changes possible and is a crucial step in making sure water companies clean up their act.
I’ll keep pushing to ensure our beautiful waterways are no longer blighted by pollution, and that we can all continue to enjoy them for generations to come. ... See MoreSee Less

Last night during the adjournment debate on the A50 / A500, I raised one of my constituent’s concerns about the challenges they face when regularly travelling between Castle Donington and Littleover.
I know that whenever there is an accident or general congestion along this vital route, it has a knock-on impact on the local towns and villages, with traffic spilling over onto local roads.
That’s why I’m backing calls to improve this part of the road network to support our local infrastructure, while also providing benefits to jobs and growth right across the East Midlands. ... See MoreSee Less
