Amanda Hack Wishes Constituents a Merry Christmas
The festive season is here, and I’d like to send best wishes to you and your loved ones. Christmas is a time to reflect and share in the love of family and friends while remembering those who are no longer with us.
Being your Member of Parliament is an honour for which I am deeply grateful. So far, it’s been an exhilarating experience. Since my election in July, I’ve received over 10,000 inquiries and comments. Responding to your requests for help and championing North West Leicestershire at Westminster are my top priorities. Thank you to everyone who has been in touch.
Over the last five months, I’ve held nineteen constituency surgeries and attended more than one hundred local meetings and events. I’m pleased to report that my office is now fully staffed, and I have a dedicated team here in the constituency to support your needs.
I’m working to improve public transport, clean up our waterways, and secure more accessible health services. I will keep advocating for the resources needed to enhance well-being in our towns and villages. Please share your experiences and ideas so we can deliver the change North West Leicestershire needs.
As we look to 2025, I want to build strong communities where we support each other and face the inevitable challenges together. I will listen to your hopes and expectations, and, whilst I cannot make every wish come true, I promise to work diligently on your behalf.

I recently spoke with Simon Dunn from the British Heart Foundation as part of The Defib Dash. Simon looks after The Circuit which is the National defib registry for the UK. www.defibfinder.uk/
Simon spoke to me about what happens when you find yourself in an emrgency situation and what you can expect when you call 999.
The aim of the Defib Dash isn’t just to highlight where defibs are missing, but to get all of us thinking about a few key questions:
Do you know how far away your nearest defibrillator is?
Could someone get to it quickly in an emergency?
Where else in the community might one be needed most?

Many people have contacted me over the last few weeks about fireworks and the need to review the legislation surrounding them. I recently spoke about this on BBC Politics on Sunday.
Last week, members of my team also attended the drop-in event organised by the Fireworks Impact Coalition to discuss the need for better regulation to help protect our animals and vulnerable people.
