Earlier this week, the Secretary of State for Health and Social Care launched a rapid national investigation into NHS maternity and neonatal services.
This will provide truth and accountability for impacted families and drive urgent improvements to care and safety, addressing systemic problems dating back over 15 years.
I’m aware that there is already a corporate manslaughter investigation looking into the failings at maternity units in Queen’s Medical Centre and Nottingham City Hospital, and I will be monitoring this closely alongside the national investigation.
The pain and suffering caused to bereaved families has been devastating, something no parent deserves and we must work harder now to prevent this happening again.Â
Failings must and will be held to account, there is no excuse for this level of gross negligence.Â

You can find more information on the investigation here:

This is an incredibly sensitive topic, and I want to highlight the charity Sands, who support anyone affected by pregnancy or baby loss for as long as they need it:

Lovely to host a coffee morning in Agar Nook today, chatting with residents about the closure of Lloyds Bank, ASB, national politics, and much more.
I also spent time out on the doorstep speaking with local people about the issues that matter most to them.
A big thank you to everyone who came along to the coffee morning and to those who took the time to speak with us afterwards, it was great to hear your views.

I have now written a second letter to the Competition and Markets Authority regarding local fuel prices.
The scale of the price differences we have, and continue to see across our area, compared with nearby communities, is worrying. I remain very concerned about the possibility of unfair pricing at the pumps and the impact this is having on household budgets.
I have asked for stronger scrutiny and clearer answers on what action will be taken to ensure fairness for motorists.
You can check and compare local fuel prices here:

We have recently passed legislation to compel every forecourt to register and report price changes within 30 mins.
If you’re seeing big price differences locally, please do share them with me; your experiences are really important in an ever changing market.
