Amanda Hack Wishes Constituents a Merry Christmas
The festive season is here, and I’d like to send best wishes to you and your loved ones. Christmas is a time to reflect and share in the love of family and friends while remembering those who are no longer with us.
Being your Member of Parliament is an honour for which I am deeply grateful. So far, it’s been an exhilarating experience. Since my election in July, I’ve received over 10,000 inquiries and comments. Responding to your requests for help and championing North West Leicestershire at Westminster are my top priorities. Thank you to everyone who has been in touch.
Over the last five months, I’ve held nineteen constituency surgeries and attended more than one hundred local meetings and events. I’m pleased to report that my office is now fully staffed, and I have a dedicated team here in the constituency to support your needs.
I’m working to improve public transport, clean up our waterways, and secure more accessible health services. I will keep advocating for the resources needed to enhance well-being in our towns and villages. Please share your experiences and ideas so we can deliver the change North West Leicestershire needs.
As we look to 2025, I want to build strong communities where we support each other and face the inevitable challenges together. I will listen to your hopes and expectations, and, whilst I cannot make every wish come true, I promise to work diligently on your behalf.

Following the recent flooding on Grace Dieu Road in Whitwick, Cllr Peter Moult and I have been working hard to support local residents with immediate action while also pressing for longer-term solutions.
I'm pleased to confirm that a full road clean of the affected areas has been carried out today by North West Leicestershire District Council, building on an earlier clean completed by a Severn Trent Water road sweeper.
After writing to Severn Trent Water, the Environment Agency and Leicestershire County Council, I’m also glad to say that a meeting has been secured for early in the new year to discuss future mitigation measures. I will continue to keep local residents updated on any progress, as I have been doing throughout.
Leicestershire County Council are also scheduled to empty and cleanse the gully network before the end of next week (12th December).

Today, we remember all those who have lost their lives to HIV-AIDS.
On World AIDS Day 2025, our Labour government is launching a new HIV Action Plan, backed by £170m of funding.
We will end new HIV transmissions by 2030.
