As some of you may have seen, following the cabinet reshuffle, James Murray MP has now been made the Chief Secretary to the Treasury. I have met James on several occasions, one of which was when he paid a visit to Snibston Colliery just a few months ago where he met with BCSSS members, and I look forward to having further discussions with him about the BCSSS funds.Â
Following his appointment, the Labour Group of Coalfield MPs coordinated a letter to the Minister urging him to approve proposals for the future of the BCSSS and to meet with the group ahead of the Autumn Budget. You can find the letter below:

Fantastic to chair last night’s meeting of the APPG for Future Homes, Skills and Innovation yesterday. Safe to say we need a bigger meeting room next time!!
It was great to hear from Industry experts about how we can all work collectively to make our homes fit for the future.
That includes how we retrofit the right upgrades to millions of homes to ensure they are warm enough in the winter, but also cool enough in the summer with our ever changing climate.
