New Trial Bus Service for Diseworth and Long Whatton
I’m pleased to share some welcome news following my recent ‘Ask Amanda’ coffee morning at The Falcon Inn back in July, where one of the biggest concerns raised was the lack of a local bus service connecting our villages with Loughborough.
Following the meeting, I made representations to Leicestershire County Council on your behalf, and I’m delighted to confirm that from Monday 26th October, the new LC18 trial bus service will connect Diseworth, Long Whatton, Hathern and Loughborough.
The service will:
Be FREE for passengers during the trial Run between 10am and 2pm Provide a new link between our villages and LoughboroughThe service will initially operate as a trial, with passenger numbers and feedback monitored to help determine its future.
I know how important a reliable bus connection is for residents, particularly those who rely on public transport for essential journeys. I’ll continue to press the County Council to monitor the service closely and work towards making it a permanent service in the future.
Starts: Monday 26th October
Diseworth → Long Whatton → Hathern → Loughborough
FREE during the trial
10am–2pmThe timetable and further details will be shared shortly. I hope residents will make use of the service and provide feedback during the trial.
This is a really positive step towards improving public transport for our rural communities.
