I recently spoke during a petition debate about the urgent need to improve awareness and early detection of Type 1 diabetes in children.
Â
Thank you to John Story, the father of Lyla, who tragically died when the warning signs of type 1 diabetes were missed, for starting the petition.
Â
Too many families are finding themselves having to push for answers when something doesn’t feel right. When symptoms are missed, the consequences can be devastating, and no parent should ever have to face that fear.
Â
Early diagnosis saves lives. Greater awareness, better training, and improved screening could make all the difference for children and their families.
Thank you to everyone who shared their experiences and supported this campaign.
