Today, (12th April), Parliament was recalled to debate the Steel Industry (Special Measures) Bill. The legislation grants the government the authority to direct steel companies in England, which will be used to protect the Scunthorpe British Steel site.

Campaign Calls for an End to the Postcode Lottery for Coeliac Health
Coeliac UK and supporters delivered a petition with over 20,000 signatures to Downing Street, backing calls for wider access to ‘gluten-free’ prescriptions across the UK. This follows the recent decision by the Leicester, Leicestershire and Rutland Integrated Care Board to end ‘gluten free’ prescriptions across the area.

Some initial thoughts on the Pathways to Work Green Paper which I will update with further information as the consultation progresses. Currently, many who want to get into work simply cannot because the system does not support them. For many, taking a job risks losing the support they rely on.


Biggest package of new laws in decades to tackle crime
The comprehensive set of new measures will tackle antisocial behaviour (ASB), shop lifting and street crime head on, giving the police new powers to take back town centres from thugs and thieves.

Any idea why we didn't get any Labour leaflets in the Valley Division? All of the other candidates managed to.
